Overdue for Criminal Charges

I see fascist Canadians shout "Freedom of Speech" here in Canada, but I have a piece of news for you bigots: we don't have that. Hate speech is a criminal offence and some of you are overdue for consequences.

Section 319(2) of the Criminal Code: Wilful promotion of hatred

Every one who, by communicating statements, other than in private conversation, wilfully promotes hatred against any identifiable group is guilty of

(a) an indictable offence and is liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding two years; or

(b) an offence punishable on summary conviction.

We see a lot of violations of this every day in Canada with respect to trans people, but none so more obviously than with the leader of the Purple Bigot's Party of Canada, Maxime Bernier. This man has been actively campaigning and inciting hatred against trans people in Canada, labelling us as "part of an extreme radical evil agenda targeting women and children."

What do you think the goal of that is? He is deliberately dehumanizing us and making it the official position of his party to dismantle our rights and protections under the law. This is wilfully promoting hatred against an identifiable group.

Enough is enough. This storm of hate directed at the trans community needs to stop and needs to stop now. The way it will stop is when those doing it face real consequences for engaging in it. I don't want to hear about chilling speech, hateful rhetoric needs to be chilled. Iced deeply as a matter of fact.

The Hon. David Lametti is the Minister of Justice and the Attorney General of Canada. He has the power to order a criminal investigation into crimes under Section 319(2) and implore you to start communicating with and writing to him. Let him know that we expect our laws to be enforced and that the rights of transgender Canadians to live authentically, and peacefully, remain protected and defended.

It's overdue. Way overdue.

It's very hard

It's a lot to take in, you know? I don't even live in the United States, but I know what happens there soon happens here.

Back to school season

In Canada, back to school starts after Labour Day, the first Monday in September. In past years I don't know that I would have given it much thought, but this year it's a little different.

It never occured to me

I'm a year and two thirds post-GCS and I have been battling vulvodynia for a while. It's been worse in the few days after dilation and then usually starts to ease up. What was causing it, it seems, is what surprised me.
